The Full Summer Skirt

When summer rolls around I am instantly attracted to super feminine designs with a retro feel. A full skirt is a great way to feel dressed up and stay cool during those hot months. Reminiscent of the 50's, this skirt by French Connection is a must for any closet. Wear yours with a sleek crop top for a modern twist on a classic shape.

A Little Mint & Print

I love printed pants, especially of the slouchy, stretchy-waist variety (it feels like you’re wearing PJs). Global-inspired prints are huge this season and wearing them in a pant is fresh and unexpected. I wore these THML pants to work with one of my favorite blouses from Good Night Macaroon, but I have already thought of a dozen outfits and occasions to wear these bad boys. This print paired with a white blazer, stilettos, and statement jewelry would be perfect for a night out. I will keep you posted on other looks I come up with for these tribal-inspired beauties.

DP Stripes! My Friday Obsession

Happy Friday All! This week I rediscovered an old favorite from my days in the UK, Dorothy Perkins. One thing that stood out was all the super cute stripes! Oh, and did I mention the amazing prices? I had my first encounter with DP all the way back in 2006. My university was having a party at some fancy London club. My mom happened to be visiting and she took me shopping on the high street to look for a dress. In the end, I chose a dress from Dorothy Perkins. It was emerald green with an empire waist and gold beading. I wish I could dig up the picture to share with you all. After returning to the States it's comforting to know that I have access to one of my favorites from my old life.

Trip to the Taj Mahal

I have been lucky enough to travel and see many wonderful things, but nothing has lived up to my expectations quite like my visit to the Taj Mahal. I can guarantee you that my pictures do not do it justice! Whenever I travel, I do my best to dress according to the country's cultural norms. Trying to keep covered in 105 degree heat proved to be a bit challenging. Has anyone else experienced challenges dressing while travelling?

The Block Heel Sandal

Every summer I buy sandals that I just can't take off. I end up loving them so much that I wear them nearly every day – by the end of the summer they generally get put out to pasture (I am very hard on my shoes). This summer I have a feeling I will be wearing a block heel sandal most days! I love this sandal because it has just enough heel on it to make it dressy but it is low enough for everyday wear. I found some great pairs to incorporate into your summer sandal collection. Which one will you choose?

Blogging! Getting back on the wagon

Anyone who is a regular follower may have noticed that I have not posted in some time. I apologize to all my readers and feel I must explain my absence. I started blogging because I was not working, and was living in the beautiful city of Berlin. I felt like I had an unlimited source of inspiration from the people, architecture, and culture. When I eventually had to return to America I felt like some of the creativity and inspiration had been sucked out of me and I found myself struggling to think of things to write. This was partially due to the fact that I was sad to leave my London home of 7 years behind and partially because I was starting to feel self-conscious about my own styling skills. Style blogging is not as easy as it looks. Constantly coming up with new, exciting looks can take its toll on your wallet and creative psyche. As I did more research and followed more blogs it seemed as if some of these girls had unlimited funds and had a new designer outfit for every day of the week (where do they get their money?) I am at a time in my life where I just can’t go shopping every day and have to watch my pennies very closely, which is difficult for me as I love beautiful clothes and my tastes happen to be on the pricier side. After my recent trip to India I have decided to dedicate myself to my blog and just learn to work with what I have. Who knows what the next year will bring?
